Yesterday was our travel day...it was harder to leave than I anticipated. I really struggled with the reality of leaving the kids for 3 weeks. I know they are in fantastic hands and are going to have a blast with my mom and grandpa, but I'm not a huge fan of being away from them for a day...3 weeks is overwhelming!! I think it also dawned on them the night before we left as well. I had special 1 on 1 time with each of them in the last two days. Henry, not wanting to miss any classes because he's in MS now, got a nice long chat and a cup of tea. Truman got to miss Tuesday morning and come to the airport to pick up Grammi and Grandpa. Adeline got to be late to school Wednesday morning to have coffee with us...missing PE which thrilled her to pieces because it's her least favorite class this year.

After Adeline returned to class and mom and grandpa headed to Ikea with Malin, Mitchell and I took a taxi to the airport.

Thankfully we had two smooth and uneventful flights. We arrived in China tired, but excited. We know Beijing, it's familiar and comfortable. Can't wait to see our friends and enjoy a few relaxed days together.
