"Mom, I think I'm Ready for More Responsibility"
As usual, I feel like there is so much going on (especially in the past three months) that I don't want to forget. I think Jess is going to write about some of the adoption stuff, so I'm really interested in the day-to-day things that I tend to forget shortly after they happen. It's the small day-to-day stuff that happy lives are made of ...
I think it's worth noting down that Truman has been an absolute rock star lately. Jess and I were commenting about it Sunday night that the change in himself, his confidence and his behavior since the beginning of the year is truly remarkable.
To everyone who told me it was a phase (and I disagreed saying I thought he was possessed): you were right, I was wrong. I guess the lesson to be learned here is that 5 year olds will find themselves in their own time and the best thing you can do is keep hugging them and praying to God for patience to endure.
I will never forget when he randomly told Jess "Mom, I think I'm ready for more responsibility."
We've also got some big things happening this week. Ted and LuAnn are coming on Friday and we're all super excited they're coming. And honestly, it's not just because they are bring us stuff from amazon.com and Target! It's been a while since we've had family visitors. The kids are excited to show off their activities and school. Jess is getting ready to repeat her standard tour guide routes of Madrid.
On Friday, Henry and Addi have their year-end school talent show in which they are both performing. Obviously they are nervous/excited for that. To my knowledge, there will be a zumba performance, plus guitar and piano songs. We'll definitely post pictures.
